Biography

He was born about 1757 and was the only son of Elizabeth DuPre (Britton) and William Goddard who passed away soon afterward.

His mother remarried to Samuel Jenkins and they had a number of children.

Francis Goddard served with Marion's Brigade, South Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.

During the American Revolutionary War Francis "Frank" Goddard served in Marion's Brigade. In a skirmish at Charleston, South Carolina he received a wound and died a few days later. [citation needed]
