Biography

Sharp David Glenn was born about 1800 in Kentucky. In 1830 he is enumerated on the federal census in Jackson County, Tennessee. His household is comprised a man between 30 and 39, two women between 20 and 29, and three boys and a girl all under the age of five. ^[1] With the limited information available from the 1830 census it cannot be known whether all children were those of the head of household, or if one or more were the children of the second woman in the house--perhaps a widowed sister or other relative.

Sometime prior to 1840, Sharp and his family moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas where he is then enumerated on the federal census. The young children from the 1830 census are not included on the 1840 census--perhaps having died, stayed behind, and/or not having all been his children to begin with. His 1840 household is comprised as follows: a man between 40 and 49, a woman between 30 and 39, and three girls and one boy all under age five.

In 1850, Sharp, his wife Cynthia, and four children are enumerated on the federal census in Saline County, Arkansas. ^[2]

And finally, in 1860, Sharp, his wife, son Anderson, and two other young women named Glenn are enumerated on the federal census in Saline County, Arkansas. ^[3]

Sharp Glenn is understood to have died 1863, Saline County, Arkansas. ^[4]
