Biography
John was born in 1859. He is the son of William Gleason and Amelia Annie Hodson.
Research notes
In 1860 a William Gleason (22, b. NY, farmer) headed an Elba Twp., MI (Lapeer County) household with Amelia Gleason (20, b. NY) and John H. Gleason (9/12, b. MI). The preceding household was headed by George W. Gleason (25, b. NY, farmer). Another household on the preceding page was headed by William H. Hudson (38, b. NY, farmer). On the same page as the William Gleasons was a household headed by Wm. D. Potter (44, b. NY, farmer) and his wife Electa (40, b. MA). George W. Gleason was John's uncle. Was William H. Hudson possibly a relative through his mother's side? The Wm. Potters were an aunt's in-laws.
