Tabitha was born in 1762. She was the daughter of Samuel Gilman and Lydia Robinson.
Tabitha Gilman Tenney was an early American author from Exeter, New Hampshire. Her novel Female Quixotism, Exhibited in the Romantic Opinions and Extravagant Adventures of Dorcasina Sheldon was first published in two volumes in 1801.
She edited a textbook of writings for young women entitled The Pleasing Instructor (1799). [1]
She married Samuel Tenney (1748–1816).
She passed away in 1837. Burial: Winter Street Burial Ground.
