Jane the daughter of Thomas and Philip (as transcribed) Gilbert of St Johns was baptised at Sithney in Cornwall on 5 Apr 1838.[1] The Bishop's transcript has her mother's name as Phillis.[2] Her death registration identifies her parents as Thomas Gilbert and Philipili Lawrence.[3]

The Barque, Time and Truth set sail from Plymouth, England on 11 January 1854 with Jane GILBERT (age 17) among the passengers and arrived in Port Adelaide, Colony of South Australia on 8 May 1854[6][7].
Jane Gilbert, a spinster aged 22, married William Tregoning at the residence of Reverend F P Strickland in Kapunda, South Australia on 20 February 1858 with their fathers named as Thomas Gilbert and Edward Tregonin.[8] Her husband was William Andrew Tregoning (b 1835, Cornwall).
Jane Donne passed away in Ararat, Victoria on 25 October 1914[11] and was buried in the Moyston Cemetery[12].

and respected resident of the Moy-
ston district passed away in the per-
son of Mrs Jane Donne. Deceased,
who was 77 years of age, had been
in ill-health for some time past, and
her demise was not altogether unex-
pected. The late Mrs Donne was a
native of Cornwall, and had resided
in the Moyston district for the past
50 years, She leaves two daughters
— Mrs Mason, of Moyston, and Mrs
Coleman, of Ararat. [13]
