Biography

Descendant of John Giffen (1718-1795) and Elizabeth Thomson (1719-abt.1754).

Barbara was born in 1843. She was the daughter of John Giffin and Margaret Shaw.^[1] She passed away in 1910.^[2]

Barbara Jane Giffin, married Joseph G. Cullen, (1842-1927) She was the daughter of John and Margaret Shaw Giffin, born in Ohio Co, Virginia (now WV) and married Nov. 4, 1868.^[3] She was the grandaughter of the Virginia pioneer Robert Giffen and his wife Mary Bane. She lived her life and reared her family near Mt. Herman United Presbyterian Church, eleven miles North of Cambridge, near Kimbolton in Guernsey County, Ohio. She was a consistant member of this church for forty-one years.^[4]
