Thanks for replying, Diana.

No, it isn't right now. On each profile with one or both parents marked 'confirmed with DNA' there needs to be a statement explaining which DNA match confirmed the parental relationship(s). You haven't added any statements. Have you read the instructions I linked? Have you looked at the DNA Confirmation Citation Maker?

Your DNA matches with your brother and your mother can only allow you to mark your relationship to your parents, and your brother's relationship to your parents 'confirmed with DNA'. Those matches don't confirm the relationships of any of your ancestors to their parents. DNA matches can only be used to confirm back to the Most Recent Common Ancestors (MRCAs) of the two matching test takers, and no further.

Until there is an appropriate statement on each profile, the parental relationships should be changed from 'confirmed with DNA' to 'confident'. Would you like to do that yourself, or would you prefer that I do that for you?

Hi Diana,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Thank you, I wish you could have photos to show me what the instructions are trying to tell me to do or how to do it. I will catch on eventually. I hope. I will give & do my best . One of my ancestors there not much you can find on him. One of his son's named his son after him and that son had a will. The will book has the name and page number to look the will up. The pages when looking up a will don't sdd up and it took me some time to get how many pages it was off. That's when I realized who will it was. Almost every tree on thiat sites has that will put to the wrong person. I have been trying to prove that Francis Gideon was the father of 2 sons from different marriages for years. Never could find proof for the oldest child even after having my DNA on 2 sites. I didn't think I got my DNA loaded on here the file was to big so I tried the other guess it worked because I now can match my DNA with other. Guess what ? I know for sure because of Wiki Tree and my DNA along with my brothers DNA the oldest and youngest both named James are son's of Francis Gideon. I just found that out a few days ago. I have disabilities that make me have to do things a little different. Like 1 thing is I don't have good short term memory everything has to go into long term so it take me a little longer to get what I am working on learning plus I have dyslexia along with being left hand right brain. My relatives at a family reunion were amazed at how I could keep all the Starks in are line together. I could raddle them off but not the dates I get them all mixed up in my head. I learn by seeing words change on me so I have to read something more then once or 5 times. I just don't give up. I will ask for help will most likely need it at first till I lock it in my long term brain. Not afraid to take the time to look up info and see what I fine. Guess I am a genealogist because I get lost in the records. LOL

Hi Diana,

At the top of your profile page you will see 2 boxes, if you put his name in there, and then click on the magnifying glass, that will bring up the page with his name and similar names, as you scroll down the page you will come to other boxes where you can add other information which will bring the number of matches down, or you can look in your contributions and look for him there, I have done this and I think this is the man you are after Henry Dye

I hope this helps, any problems please let me know

Take care and have fun

Karen 🤗
