Another source gives Hannah's father's name as William.
The information is confusing. The Henderson book states that Hannah was the second born of Samuel Gibson, whose wife died in childbirth in 1856, and that Hannah (11) and her brother William accompanied a family named Poole from England in 1848. Hannah alighted at Adelaide but William stayed with the Poole's, who settled in Victoria. This appears to be apocryphal
Samuel sold the farm and moved his family to Victoria in 1857, where the Poole's adopted Sophia and Samuel bought property in Castlemaine. He shifted to SA in 1862, lived at Allendate until his death in 1865. He is buried at Kapunda.
Passenger lists give:
Passengers arriving 1847-09-25 on the Mariner (600/683 t ship b 1844) from London via Plymouth, Capt Robt Harland: GIBSON Samuel, wife, Phyllis, Mary Ann, Robt, Jane, Wm, 3 ch inc Eliza [6,20]
Confusing: Judy Holding's source suggests that Hannah was the daughter of Samuel Gibson (as above) and his wife Hanna nee Sharpe.
