Obituary

Harwood Rites Held in Bangor; Many Attend

Funeral services for Mrs. R. C. Harwood, 67, a life-long resident of North Bangor who died in a Montreal Hospital on September 22nd, were held in Bangor Methodist Church on Friday afternoon. A host of friends attended the rites which crowded the capacity of the church. In connection with the commitment services, the Bangor Grange, of which the deceased was chaplain for 19 years, held its ritualistic service at the grave. Mrs. Harwood passed away following an operation performed the previous day. She had been ill for several months. During her active lifetime the deceased had been an active worker and faithful member of the Methodist church and its societies. She was a charter member of the Grange and was active in the WCTU. She was a woman of quiet disposition and enjoyed the love and admiration of a wide circle of friends. She was united in marriage to Mr. Harwood on August 11, 1880. Surviving are her husband, three children, Clarence E. of North Bangor; Mrs. W. G. Walker of Point Claire, Que., and Mrs. Elmer Zehr of Lowville, N.
