William Pierie Gibbs was born on June 10, 1862 in Haughton le Skerne in England. He was the son of accountant George Sleight Gibbs and Isabella Smith.
He had married Gertrude Lister born on July 1, 1861 in Newington i Edinburgh, Skottland, on July 3, 1890. She was the daughter of deceased commercial traveller Richard Lister and his deceased wife Mary Cane. Witnesses were John B Gibbs, probably a brother of William's, and Davina M. Mackay.
They had daughter Isabella Mary born on May 7, 1891 in Old Kilpatrick in Scotland.
He belonged to the Quakers, the South Division of Wales Monthry meeting and his wife to the United Presbyterians.
He and his family came moving in from Canada to Underåker parish in Jämtlands län, Sweden on December 12, 1906 and moved to Odalen, Hardanger in Norway on February 10, 1908.
He was a chemist (kemist) and they lived in Skansegan during their time in Undersåker.
Gertrude Lister (1861-) might be his wife.
Found him and the family in Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada census in 1901. They arrived in 1899, and from Swedish records, we know that they came from Canada in DEcember 1906.[1]
