Biography

Elizabeth Ann is the child of John Gibb and Hannah Rea. She was born on 3 October 1843 at Craigyhall townland, Donegore. She was baptised in First Donegore Presbyterian Church on 5 November 1843.

She married William McQuillan from Tully, Killead on 27 December 1867 in First Donegore Presbyterian Church in Parkgate village. The witnesses were John Johnson and Jane Gibb, her sister who later married Andrew Beresford.

In 1901 Eliza was living with her husband and daughters Hannah and Agnes in Seacash (Seacash, Antrim). She was listed as a Presbyterian, aged 57.

In 1911 Eliza Ann McQuillan was listed as aged 67, living at 19 in Tully (Seacash, Antrim) with her husband William and children David and Agnes. They had been married 44 years and she had given birth to 9 children, two deceased, twins Grace and Agnes.

She died in 1916 after long-term heart problems and pulmonary congestion. She is buried in Killead Presbyterian Church burying ground. Her death was registered by her youngest daughter Agnes, who was living in Crumlin.
