Major Randolph George Gethin (1871-1945) was the eldest son of Capt. and Mrs George Gethin of Hollywell, Co. Sligo.
Press Cutting - Sligo Independent dated 2 May 1896 - We are glad to find that at the recent examinations held in Trinity College, Dublin, Mr. Randolph George Gethin, eldest son of Captain George Gethin, Hollywell, Sligo, passed as a professional associate of the Surveyors' Institution.
He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Battalion, Inniskilling Fusiliers. He also gained the rank of Captain and Honorary Major in the South Irish Horse Regiment.
He was awarded the order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1919.
