Biography

Patrick Geoghegan born in Dublin, Ireland, he was baptised on 17 March 1805. Orphaned at the age of 8. He became a Franciscan friar and served at a Dublin parish before volunteering for Australia.[1]

Bishop of Adelaide consecrated on 8 September 1859
named Bishop of Goulburn, Australia, but died before he could assume the post

The will of Rt Rev Patrick Bonaventure Geoghegan RC Bishop, formerly of Adelaide, Australian colonies, late of Corrig Ave, Kingstown, Co Dublin, who died 9 May 1864 was proved 9 June 1864 at the principal registry by the oath of Robert Augustine White of Rutland square, Dublin RC Clergyman, the sole executor.
