Fred Richard Gehrke was born to August Gehrke and Elizabeth Bergau in Konigsberg, Germany (which was renamed in 1949, Kalininggrad, part of the Russian Federation).
He married Augusta Tichelmann.
They resided in Salt Lake at 1091 South 700 East at the time of his passing at their home, June 2nd 1953 at the age of 61.
Augusta survived him but passed away in 1955. They are both buried in the Salt Lake City, Cemetery. ==
Their children: Ruth Gerke-Orme-Asmus (1917-1985), Clarence Fred Gehrke -Football Hall of Famer (1918-2002), William Earnest Gehrke (1919-2005), baby boy born 5 months premature & lived for 20 minutes (1923-1923) , Walter Robert Gehrke (1926-2005).
