Horace was born 20 Oct 1801 in Ashford, Windham, Connecticut, United States.[1] He was the son of Luther Gaylord (1768-1834 and Sally Preston Gaylord (1772-1804).[2]
Horace married Mary Davis 12 May 1828 in Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut, United States.[3][4] Married by R. S. Crampton.[3]
He passed away 27 Mar 1877 in Chicopee, Hampden, Massachusetts, United States [5][6]and is buried in Gaylord Cemetery in Ashford, Windham, Connecticut.[2]

Research Note
"Horace was probate clerk of Ashford or Judge of Probate 1844, 1846, 1848, 1855, 1863, 1864; Honorary Trustee of Woodstock Academy 1854; and incorporator of the Woodstock Agricultural Society 1862; wrote a letter to Capt. William Lyon Jr., in which he states that more men went from Woodstock to the relief of Boston in the Revolutionary War than from any other town in Connecticut. His sons John D. and William L. were appointed administrators of his estate 3 October 1877." (Source - History of Woodstock, CT.)
