Biography
Stephen Gavin was born in 1832 in Clifden, County Galway, Ireland, the son of Bridget Coyne and Stephen Gavin.[1]
He married Honora Mulkerrin Malcairn on 29 September 1851 in Clifden, County Galway.[1] Their children were:[1]
- Mary Norah Gavin (1852–1922)
- Michael Gavin (1860–1866)
Stephen was admitted to the Dunwich Asylum in Dunwich, Brisbane, Queensland on 4 June 1889. He died on 18 March 1904 of senile degeneration, aged 71 years. His remains were buried at Dunwich Benevolent Asylum Cemetery.[1]
