Howard was born on 19 May 1922 in Burlington, New Jersey.^[1][2] Howard was the son of Charles Sullivan Gauntt and Margaret Carson.^[3][4]

Howard volunteered at Watchtower's Kingdom Farm at Lansing, New York.^[5]

Howard married Sarah E Vanderbunt on 11 October 1952 in Cortland, New York.^[6]

In 1961, Howard served as a chef during a six-day district assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses at Yankee Stadium.^[7]

Howard died (age 80) on 19 February 2003.^[8][9][10]
