Moll Gatton is a part of US Black heritage.
"Moll" was born about 1756. In 1776 she was an enslaved person in the household of James Gatton of Frederick, Maryland. She may also have appeared in his 1790 census.
The 1776 colonial census of Frederick, Maryland reported James Gatten 38 and Elisabeth Gatten 41 with:

- Anna 8
- Virlinder 6

The 1790 census of Montgomery, Maryland reported the James Gatton household as 3 white males 16 and over, 3 white females, and 5 enslaved people.[2]
