Biography
Richard was born in 1942. He was the son of William Gatton and Iva Billings. He passed away in 2009.
Posted on Findagrave.com: Richard Warren Gatton 66, of Jefferson City, pased away Friday, March 20, 2009 at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born September 6, 1942, in Leon Iowa, a son of the late William and Iva (Billings) Gaton. He was a graduate of Polo High School in Polo Mo. On March 5, 1996 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Barbara Rosenbum who survives at their home. Richard did self employed home improvements. He loved fishing, watching John Wayne Westerns, movies, books, and fussing with his grandchildren. A favorite pastime for him was teaching various nephews and son in law Jon about mechanics. As he became unable to get out and about, his son in law installed bird feeders outside the door where he could view his birds daily. He is also survived by three daughters, Krista Gatton of Excelsior Springs Mo , Cindy Juckette and husband Jon of Jefferson City, Sandy Mitchell and husband Todd of Rowlett TX., four grandsons, Gavin, Skyler, Colton, Kaeden. four granddaughters, Brittney Lexi, Arie Ahna, Amari. four brothers, Howard Gatton and wife Jackie; Bill Gatton, Charles Gatton and wife Beverly, Ivan Gatton and wife Jackie. five sisters, Violet Robison and husband Chester, Carol McDonald and husband Robert, Sherry Lohr and husband Steve, Lynna Oliphant and husband Roger, Willa Minski and husband Dennis; several nieces, nephews and great niecees and nephews; and also his adopted family Vicki Anderson and husband Marty, and sons, Derek, Andrew, Austin and daughter Erica. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a great nephew, Hayden and a sister in law, Dolores. Friends will be received from 10;00 to 11;00 a.m. Monday at the Houser Millard Funeral Home. Funeral servicees will be held at 11a.m. Monday March 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.\ Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Lung Assn. or the Columbia Audubon Society.
