Biography
John was born 19 Jul 1766 in Vassalboro, Kennebec, Maine to John Gaslin and Eunice (Brown) Gaslin. [1]
He passed away there on 25 Apr 1857 and is buried in the Cross Hill Cemetery in Vassalboro.[2]
He married Mary Webber in 1791. Based on the list provided at the FindAGrave Memorial[2], their children included:
- William Gaslin (1793-1883)
- Thomas Gaslin (1795-1877)
- Benjamin Gaslin (1799-1873)
- Jacob Gaslin (1803-1848)
- Mary W. (Gaslin) Hallowell (1808-1890
- Betsy W. (Gaslin) Hallowell (1814-1890
In addition, they had John Call Gaslin (1815-1890)
In the 1850 census,[3] he is 83, a farmer, and living in Vassalboro with three females: Eliza D, 33, Lois, 13 and Eliza H, 11.
