Ann(e) Elizabeth Gascoigne was born in 1871 at Banbury in Oxfordshire. She was the daughter of Thomas Gascoigne and his wife Eliza, born Eliza Kilby. ^{[1] [2]}

In 1881 Annie Gascoigne was living in Star Lane at Claverdon in Warwickshire with her parents, Thomas W. and Eliza, and her younger brother. Her age was given as 10, implying a birth date in 1870 or 1871. Her birthplace was given as Banbury, Oxfordshire. She was at school. ^[2]

Frederick Macey, bachelor, aged 25, a groom, of Warminster, son of Isaac Macey, labourer; and Annie Elizabeth Gascoigne, spinster, aged 22, of The Orchards, Neithrop, daughter of Thomas William Gascoigne, coachman; were married at Banbury parish church on 27 March 1894. ^[3]
