Biography

Mary's birth year is a guess, based on her first marriage in 1651. Her origins and maiden name are unknown. Some online trees show that she was Mary Arnold, so that name has been included as an "Other Name" on this profile. '

Mary (Unknown) married first John Garnett^[1] on 10 April 1651, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony.^[2]

John died in Hingham, Plymouth Colony, on 24 November 1668.^[3][1] The inventory of his estate was appraised by John Tower and John Ripley, 28 April 1669, at £44.11s. and included "the Goats that have been sold to pay debts and maintain the family." His widow, Mary, was administratrix for the estate.

Mary ( ______ ) Garnett remarried on 18 Jun 1669, in Hingham. Her second husband was Nathaniel Chubbuck.^[4][5]

Nathaniel Chubbuck died in Hingham, Plymouth County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, on 20 Jan 1702.^[6][5] Nathaniel and Mary had no children.^[5]

Death

Mary died a widow, on 20 Dec or 20 Aug 1710, in Hingham. (In the handwritten transcript, "Aug" is written above "Dec," but neither month is crossed out.)^[7]

Research Notes

Baptism records for Mary Arnold show her father as William Arnold, There is speculation that she could be the daughter of William Arnold and Mary Peake. However William Arnold 's profile does not have her listed as his child and there has been no evidence found to support that THIS William Arnold is her father.
