Maria Cruz Piedad Garcia was born in Los Griegos, New Mexico on April 30, 1862, the daughter of Gregorio Garcia & Teresita Gutierres.[1]

On June 28, 1880, Piedad married Teófilo Griego at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico.[2]
