Biography
Phillip was born in 1890 in Mississippi, to Ed and Martha Gant. He married Maggie Hickman in Tennessee, and they moved to Chicago, where he worked as an insurance salesman. He passed away in 1955. His son, Morris, was a Tuskegee Airman who lost his life on a strafing mission in Italy.
