Thomas was a Civil War veteran. He was living in Hartford, Connecticut when he joined the Union Army's Company C, 22nd Regiment, Connecticut Infantry. He mustered in 23 Aug 1862 and mustered out with the Company 7 Jul 1863.[2][3]The regiment was engaged in the Siege of Suffolk.[4]
He married Elizabeth Harriet Belden (born Weathersfield, Connecticut)[5] before 1860 likely in Connecticut.
Thomas and his family came to Pasadena, California from Detroit, Michigan in about 1890.[6]
