Biography

Marie Josephte Frigon, daughter of Francois Frigon and Marie Jeanne Deshaies was born on March 7, 1739 at Bécancour, Nouvelle-France and was baptized the same day at parish La Nativité-de-Notre-Dame-de-Bécancour. Her godparents were Pierre and Marie Joseph Deshaies who said they did not know how to sign. ^[1]

At 23 years old Marie Josephte Frigon married Adrien Rheault, 27-years-old son of late Joseph Rheault and late Catherine Lefebvre on July 19, 1762 at parish La Nativité-de-Notre-Dame-de-Bécancour. Were present at the marriage many witnesses who do not know how to sign. ^[2]

Marie Josephte Frigon, widow of farmer Adrien Rheault died on October 8, 1816 and was buried the next day in the cemetery of parish La Nativité-de-Notre-Dame-de-Bécancour. Were present at the funeral Pierre Rheault , Antoine Rheault and Joseph Rheault, her three sons, Jean Baptiste Larivière her son-in-law, Pierre Bellemare, Pierre Leblanc, Antoine Leblanc, her three nephews who are the only ones to have signed. ^[3]
