Biography

I've been doing genealogy as time permitted for 15 years or so, my Grandma Doris Frazier helped create the Lenawee County Historical Museum in Adrian, Lenawee, MI and something must have rubbed off to my Dad & I. I've always had a liking for the feeling when I touch something I know belonged to the family before I was born, a connection. I inherited my G Grandfasther Elmer's lathe tools, and have used them fairly often. As a kid in inner city Lafayette, Indiana, I wanted to find some Indian artifacts. I manufactured some, and my brother & I "discovered" them :)

I remember stories I've read of Rhoda's family - as I remember they moved to Illinois (Sublette?) and had a rough time with an epidemic, I think rheumatic fever. They lost a lot of children at that time. Recently I had my DNA tested by ancestry, and have been corresponding with connections that brought up, Just yesterday my Mom received her data from the National Geographic type of DNA testing, also fascinating.

I'm currently building a scaled down Viking ship, so I guess you can say that I'm "into" history.

Bob, try nyshistoricnewspapers.org with names and years. Use the county you are interested in. Sometimes local villages had a gossip column and gave lots of common doings, if you are lucky enough to have one in a paper. Not always successful but worth a try that a lot of people are not aware of.

Bob, you are now on the Frazier Name Study's trusted list. I appreciate your interest in helping! I will be adding categories and pages, and you are welcome to to do so also as you work on your Frazier genealogy. I am very interested in seeing your Frazier line back to the 1700's. I am stuck in the early 1800s! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hi Bob,

How are you? I'm David a WikiTree Mentor. Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree. There are reasons behind the eighth point in our Honor Code: "We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information.

Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes sources and how to enter sources.

Family Search and Find a Grave are free websites for finding sources:

Hi Bob,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
