Major General Duncan Mackenzie Michael Francis AO OBE was born on 20th March 1937 at Perth, Western Australia, Australia. He was the eldest child of Duncan Francis and Marie Collopy. [1]
As an officer in the Australian Regular Army, Duncan did a military tour in South Vietnam, 12th May 1967 to 5th March 1968, as a Major with 17th Construction Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers. [2] He later attained the senior rank of Major General. [1]
Duncan passed away on 26th October 2004 at Woden, Australian Capital Territory and his ashes are placed at Norwood Park Crematorium, Mitchell. [1]
