Biography

His parents were Moses Fox 1792 - 1863 and Mary Wyborn 1810 - 1855. They married on 17/2/1834 at St George, Canterbury, Kent.

He had a brother Moses Fox 1848 - 1912. Their father was a Hawker and Marine stores dealer.

In 1841 he was age 5 and living in Old Ruttington Lane, Kent with his parents.

In 1851 he was age 13 and a scholar living with his parents (father age 58, mother age 41) and five siblings in St Mary Northgate, Kent.

He does not appear in the 1861 or subsequent census.

There is a Western Australian convict record for a Thomas Fox.

Convict 8846. Convicted of burglary and sentenced to 10 years on 13 March 1865 at Maidstone, Kent, England. His occupation was Hawker and he was literate. he claimed to be married. Transported to WA on the Belgravia arriving at Fremantle, Western Australia, on 4 July 1866. He had been collected from Chatham prison. Granted Ticket of Leave 23/9/1870. Left the colony on 6/1/1885 on the Charlotte Padbury.

He does not appear in the Bicentennial Dictionary.

In is suggested that a daughter of his first marriage was Louisa Fox who married Henry Buckland.

Online death records have his age as 70, place of death Albany and parents Unknown.

He is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Albany.
