Biography

Thomas was a Friend (Quaker)

Thomas was the son of Quakers Thomas Fox and Mary Tregelles. He was born at Falmouth, Cornwall on 28 April 1793.^[1][2]

On 3 May 1814 Thomas married Eliza Grigg at St Andrew's, Plymouth. This was a Church of England wedding even though he cane from a Quaker family. The parish register describes him as a merchant, and says they were both resident in the parish.^[3]

Thomas's death was registered at Plymouth, Devon in the first quarter of 1860.^[4] Probate was granted on his estate on 7 March 1860, with his death date recorded as 5 February that year.^[5]
