I know how you feel, I have a tree on Ancestry and am in the process of moving everyone from there onto here. You can download your Ancestry tree as a GEDCOM and then upload it on here. When you log in to Ancestry click on your tree and select the tree setting, on the right hand side under manage your tree click on export your tree and that will start the GEDCOM, it takes a few minutes, once it has downloaded you can then upload it on here. It will take a few minutes to upload, and you will get a message through when it is ready. The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches, once you have done this any remaining names will need to be added manually
There is a limit of 5000 names with the GEDCOM.
One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
I hope this helps, any problems please let us know
Take care Karen
I am so sorry, I thought I had replied to you already, and found I had not done so 😢. This link will explain how to split an Ancestry tree Split your tree, the reason for the 5,00 limit on names is if there are more then the GEDCOM can get corrupted and you would not be able to use it.
I hope this helps, any problems, please let me know
take care Karen
I see that you have had your DNA tested, congratulations! Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, try a different one. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.
Let me know if you have any questions, and have fun!

To be able to add more names you will need to volunteer, you can do this from your Navigation page. Just add tags showing your genealogical interests e.g. surnames you are researching, in the comments box by them add the location/relationship to you, then click on the green box that says "Save tags and volunteer." We will then be able to confirm you as a member.
Volunteering just means you will work on your ancestors to help us achieve our goal of joining all individual family trees into one global family tree.
I hope this helps! If you have any problems, let me know.
Take care
