Henry played as a right handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler for Oxford University, Marylebone Cricket Club and Worcestershire County Cricket Club. He played 289 first class matches scoring 17,154 runs, and taking 15 wickets.[1]
Henry was born in 1873. He was the son of schoolmaster Rev Henry Foster (himself a keen cricketer and golfer) and Sophia Mary Harper.
In the 1881 census, Henry (age 7), Scholar, was the son of Henry Foster in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, England.[2]
