Rensselear Foster was born on 16 Oct 1823, the son of Seth Foster and Julette (Soper) Foster. His birth is shown in the published vital records of Pembroke, Massachusetts, citing a family Bible kept by her father.[1] but he was probably born at Livermore, Maine, where his parents are known to have been living at the time (see the "Residences" section of his father's profile).
