Biography

Joseph Godfrois Fortier was born on 2 Mar 1805 and was baptized the next day in Saint-Anne d'Yamachiche parish in Maskinongé. He was the son of Joseph Marie Fortier and his wife Magdeleine Carpentier. Godparents at Godfrois' baptism were Joseph Lefebvre and Magdeleine Fortier. Godfrois married Julie Lagrave on 24 Feb 1849 in Saint-Pierre-de-Sorel parish. There were six known children born into this marriage.
