She was married to Albert L. Hoskins, Jrl, between 1926 and 1933. She was a noted author of American Colonial subjects. In 1942, she received the Pulitzer History Prize for her book, "Paul Revere and the World He Lived in."
In 1944, she was awarded the Newbery Medal for her book "Johnny Tremain." [1]
She died in 1967 and is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts.[2]
