Military
Civil War Union Pvt Co B 4th Iowa Infantry Enlisted as a Private on July 10, 1861 at the age of 20. Joined Co. B, 4th Iowa Infantry Regiment on August 8, 1861. 20 at the time of enlistment on 7/10/61. Nelson died 2 years later at Vicksburg, MS.. Died in the Vicksburg Siege Campaign[1]
