Thanks for your note. I hope someone can resolve the ancestors of our Smith line (i.e. Thomas Smith I and Thomas Smith II). Unfortunately, I am not in a place where I can contribute to this research effort. The Thomas Martin Sr. family owned property and lived in Rockingham County, NC., near the Virginia line. I believe that much of that property is becoming part of a new state park. My Great Great Grandfather, Joseph Henry Smith, moved his family to Stokes County, N.C in 1858. I was born on that property in 1944 during the 2nd World War. Best regards, Ken Flippin
Ken and Michelle are 10th cousins Ken Flippin and Michelle Valent B.S. are both descendants of Claes (Corneliss) van Schouwen.
Happy to hear from you and learn that we are 10th cousins. I have not yet taken the time to explore Claes van Schouwen, but will do so today. That is a new name to me. Thanks for sharing! Best regards, Ken
Ken and Catherine are fourth cousins Ken Flippin and Catherine (Taylor) Fussell are both descendants of Thomas Martin Sr. My ggggrandfather, Aaron Burr Tilley and wife, Lockey Jackson, are buried in the Flippin Cemetary.
Thanks for becoming pre-1700 certified. Now that you will be working on older profiles you will find yourself collaborating more with others. The best way to do this is by joining a project. Have a look at our list of pre-1700 projects and see if any are of interest to you. Give me a shout if you have any questions.
Thanks, Susie :-)
Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.
Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

A warm welcome to WikiTree. Hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have. You never know when you will find a lost family member or ancestor. Or maybe find a hidden family secret about an ancestor. Genealogy to me is like being a detective looking for clues into the past.
You are now a full member and can add your family to the big tree!
Start with our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always happy to help!

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
