Percy William Flint was born on 17th October 1917 at Cowra, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of Harry Flint and Johanna Cashman.^[1]

He served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force during the Second World War; enlisted 19th September 1941, discharged 10th January 1946.^[2] He was a member of the 64th Australian Infantry Battalion.

He married Rosie Josephine Dunley in 1946 at Narrandera, New South Wales.^[3]
