Samuel was son of Mathew Fleming and Eliza Baxter. Samuel Veldon Fleming, son of Mathew Fleming and Elizabeth Baxter was born on 27 June 1858 and baptised on 31 December 1858 in Melbourne, Québec (Quebec), Canada.^[1]
