Biography

Francis Gaines Flaugher was born about 1815 to Christopher Flaugher and Elizabeth Banfield in Greenup County, Kentucky.

In the 1830's, he became one of the earliest settlers in Osage Township, Miller County, Missouri.

Francis married Jane Ingram on Dec. 10, 1837 in Scott County, Virginia.[1] Their first child, Eliza, was born about 1838. Jane died about the time their son, Richard, was born in 1857.

On Oct. 15, 1857, Francis married Matilda Weimer (or Weimmer) Shephard, daughter of Jacob and Jane Weimer of Osage Township.[2] She was the widow of Jasper Shephard whom she had married in 1839 and had five children of her own.

Francis died sometime between the 1870 and 1880 censuses in Miller County, Missouri.
