Biography

Roger was born in 1887 to William Fitzgerald and Helen Hoffman in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1890, they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where his father ran Fitzgerald Dry Goods Store. In 1905, his father passed away in Lincoln. His mother sold the store to Rudge & Guenzel and then moved to California with her four children. They returned to Lincoln soon thereafter.

From about 1926 to 1937, Roger ran Fitzgerald Drug Store in Lincoln.

In 1945, Roger married Clara Kelly in Denver. They lived in Hastings, Nebraska, where Roger worked for the United States Employment Service.

In 1955, Clara passed away in Hastings.

In 1961, Roger passed away in Lincoln. He is buried in Wyuka Cemetery near his wife, parents, and two sisters.

Lincoln Man in Drug Business Many Years.

Roger Fitzgerald announced Saturday that Henry A. Reed, well known Lincoln druggist, is now connected with the Fitzgerald Drug Co. at 13th and N. Mr. Reed, who has had more than twenty years' experience in the drug business in Lincoln, was formerly manager of Boyden's pharmacy. For a number of years he was in charge of the prescription department for Donley-Stahl company. He was also associated with other druggists here in his earlier years.

Local USES Interviewer Is Married

The wedding of Roger Fitzgerald, interviewer for the Hastings United States Employment Service office, and Miss Clara Kelley of Lincoln has been announced. The ceremony was performed in Denver on August 30.

Mr. Fitzgerald was transferred to the Hastings office in March of this year from Lincoln. Mrs. Fitzgerald will remain in Lincoln for the present.

FITZGERALD—Roger FitzGerald. 72, who lived at the LIncoln Hotel, died Tuesday. He lived is Lincoln 60 years. He was veteran of World War I and once operated a drugstore in Lincoln. He was a retired employe of the State Unemployment Service. Survivors: sisters, Helen and Elsie Fitzgerald; brother, William.
