The State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay JACOB DRUMHELLER, in trust for the heirs and legal representatives of John Fitzgerald, two hundred dollars, as compensation for a tract of donation land to which John Fitzgerald became entitled by his revolutionary services. 24 Mar 1832.
John Fitzgerald served as a private with the Third Pennsylvania Continental Line. A certificate was issued on October 23, 1784, for John Fitzgerald and signed by him indicating receipt of a Gratuity. This Gratuity was allowed to the non-commissioned officers and privates who served to the end of the war. [1][2][3][4]
John Fitzgerald married Rosanna Wentz on August 09, 1779, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Their marriage contract reads as follows: "In the year of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, 1779, I John Fitzgerald and Rosanna Wentz have entered the state of Holy Matrimony, on August 9. May God give us His blessing in all our activities." [5]
John died on April 1, 1810, in Worcester, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, USA. [6][7] His will was written on November 23, 1809, and executed on April 18, 1810, after his death on April 1st in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, USA. [8][9][10]
