Biography

Harry was the only son of Donald Fisher and Mildred Howell born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, 12 Feb 1932. [1]

He went to Brentwood High School in is hometown.

Harry Graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon, Upshur County, West Virginia, 1951 - 1955 and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC, 1955-1959. During the time at West Virginia Wesleyan he was a member of the School Cross County team and was dubbed the name "Ironman Fisher."

He married Carole Ann Frazier In Pittsburgh, 1955. Together they had three children.

Harry worked as an Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, 1960 - 1969.

After the death of his Father in 1971, he quit smoking and resumed his exercise regimen of running and competed in 5 Ks and marathons until he was 79 years of age.

He worked as a Juvenile Probation Councilor for the Court Service Unit, until he retired in 1997.

After Retirement, Harry worked part time as a Coach for the Martinsville High School Bulldogs cross-country team. During that time he started the Girls Cross-Country Team.

Harry died 23 Sep 2020 after suffering from Dementia and then a Stoke two weeks earlier at Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Community in Winston-Salem, NC. He lived with his daughter and wife Carole for 10 years in Kernersville, NC before moving to the memory-care unit at the retirement home.
