Biography

Joseph Travis Fincher was born on June 1, 1823, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States, son of Joseph Travis Fincher (1780–1854) and Mary Perry Horn (1805–1901).

Joseph (age 20) married Elizabeth Barrett (age 18); daughter of William M. Barrett and Mary Melsey (James) Barrett; on September 21, 1843, in Pike County, Georgia, United States.[1] Their children were:

  1. William Thomas Fincher (1845–1917)
  2. Mary Holland Fincher Beckham (1846–1927)
  3. Joseph Alva Fincher (1848–1910)
  4. Louisa Frances Fincher McDaniel (1849–1929)
