Biography

He was baptized at Balderton on February 20th 1735. In 1767 he was probably the Steward or Land Agent of the Duke of Rutland. Amongst other land purchases the bought the Syerston estate of some 500 acres. He built Syerston Hall but died before it was completed. In 1767 he married Sarah Neale (aged 19), daughter of Thomas Neale of Kneeton. They had four children. He died on October 18th 1795 and was buried in Syerston church.[1]
