Biography

William Henry Fields is a part of US Black heritage.

William Henry was born about 1842 in Madison County, Virginia. He was the son of Saint Clare Graves and Sarah Ann Fields.[1]

William served in the Union Army with the 2nd U.S. Colored Infantry.[2]

In 1870 William was living with wife Sally and four inferred children in Rapidan, Madison County, Virginia.[3] In 1880 William and Sarah were living with 11 children and his mother, Ann, in Rapidan.[4]

In 1900 William and Sarah were still in Rapidan, Virginia with two daughters, a granddaughter, and servant.[5]

He passed away in 1923 in Albemarle, Virginia.
