Biography

This profile is part of the Forbes, New South Wales One Place Study.

Grant was born at Gunning Lagoon near Forbes, New South Wales on 29 Mar 1874[1][2]. He was the son of Josiah Field and Sarah Morris[1][2].

On 05 May 1909, Grant married Rose Jane Doalman at St John's Anglican Church, Forbes, New South Wales.[2][3]

Grant passed away at the age of 55 at Carraboblin Station near Bedgerabong, New South Wales on 28 Mar 1930[4]. He is buried in the Bedgerebong Cemetery, Bedgerebong, New South Wales.[2][5].

Note: Grant's gravestone gives his death date as 29 Mar 1930[5], however newspapers of the time give Grant's day of death as Friday[4], which was 28 Mar 1930. The date of death is also confirmed by narrowing down the date range for the NSW BDMs Registration index[6].
