David Fickling was a South Carolinian.

David L. Fickling was born on September 25, 1903 in Blackville, South Carolina.^[1] He was the son of R. B. Fickling and Marie Richardson.^{[1] [2]}

David married Mary Viola Ola Rowell before 1926.^[3] They had at least 3 daughters.^[4]

David was a welder who fell into an open fire, receiving extensive burns.^[1] He died at Baptist Hospital in Columbia.^[1] He is buried in Blackville Cemetery, Blackville (Barnwell County), South Carolina.^[5]
