Sir James Fergusson LLD MP GCSI CIE became the 6th Baronet of Kilkerran on 18 March 1849. A Civil Marriage is registered with Olive Richman in the January quarter of 1873 at Kensington, London, but the Australian Dictionary of Biography records the date as 11 Mar 1873 and the location New Zealand. Olive was his 2nd of 3 wives. Sir James was killed in Jamaica during an earthquake.
