Biography

My name is Lorinne Lynn Fenstemaker Humphrey, but I go by Lori. I was born in Lawrence, Kansas, USA in 1961, the daughter of Alan Fenstemaker and Donna Hunzicker.

I live in Mid-Missouri and began my journey into genealogy 30 years ago. My grandmother [[Ford-9053|Oliveward Ford Hunzicker and great aunt had been researching back in the 1950's and 1960's. ie: Pre-Google!! The information they had was unbelievable! As I started my journey I emulated their pattern, unfortunately, unaware of the value of sources. Decades of research with No Sources!! After obtaining my BSN, the importance and necessity of sources and citing those sources became critical for me. Just as I question my professional nursing with the need for Evidence-based Practice, I apply that to my genealogy.

With that said, I have thousands of individuals in my genealogy work files. Literally thousands needing sources. Information I obtained from my grandmother and great aunt, I am fairly certain of and pass along while trying to obtain those sources. A lot of my information was obtained from Ancestry.com and I am also working to update those. So...bear with me as I bring this data forward and please.....feel free to assist, correct and update. I have much to learn! And share! One day we will prove we are all connected!!

Hi again,

I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!

If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

REMINDERS: (1) We use Google Groups for project collaboration and you aren’t yet a member of the group, please submit a join request here (make sure to add your name/WikiTree ID to the request). (2) I see you've added German_Roots (our old project name) to your G2G tags, you should also add GERMANY to your followed G2G tags so you don't miss any discussions in G2G (see: Help:Tags#How_to_follow_tags Help:Tags).

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Lori,

Can we reserve the project box for project managed profiles and use the Sticker below the Biography line on others? The categories you requested are in the queue and will likely be found at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Quakers_in_Indiana in the near future. If you have questions just drop me a note...

Thanks!

Hello Lori,

We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace.

How is it going so far? Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

David ~ WikiMessenger

P.S. Sometimes links don't work in emails. You can always find a link that works in the public comments on your profile.

You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

Have questions? We want to help! Click the name above any of your comments, then ask in the comment section of that volunteer's page.

Hi Lori,

It's time for your next stop on the guided tour!

This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved through social media, our forum, and projects.

Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!

Please let me know if you have questions. :-)

Lori,

You should have received an email telling you to approve your gedcom for import. You have not approved it. That is what is holding things up. If you cannot locate the email, send an email to info @ WikiTree.com explaining the problem. The Admin team will help get things sorted out.

Shirley

Hi –

I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can help you with?

Shirley

Hi Lori,

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles.

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Do you have some historically-significant ancestors? It looks like the German Roots Project and Canadian History Project would be good fits based on the tags & comments you entered. You could also check the list of active projects.

Don't forget to add project tags so you will get updates about activity for the projects you choose.

Have questions? We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
